I channeled my anger (rage really) into the gym.
I turned my negative into a positive and developed a love for training, which grew into a career.
Starting out as a Personal Trainer in Yorkville, Toronto back in 1999 I found success early winning the Bally Total Fitness Personal Trainer of the Year for 2001 and Bally Total Fitness Personal Training Manager of the Year for 2003.
I tell this not to impress you but simply to impress upon you that I know this game and you can trust me.
There has been an absolute explosion of people selling coaching to people who want to be coaches who then sell coaching and on and on it goes.
Over the last couple of years, the coaching industry has exploded and I’m not a part of that.
I am a legitimate coach, a motivator and someone who has been doing this for over 25 years.
Fast forward 20 years, 4 personal training studios, 2 failed marriages, a struggle with addictions and you’d see a person who still struggled with the “I’m not good enough” mindset.
Now, let me paint a picture.
One day in October 2015 I came home from a business trip to find my house emptied of all belongings and a note from the mother of my son that said I was not to follow or try to see my son.
Cue the spins.
My world as I knew it changed in a moment and within a week I had no home, was sleeping on my dad’s couch in a trailer park and lost my training business.
This was my rock bottom. Many have had lower, but this was mine.
But looking back if it wasn’t for this time, the hardest time, I would not be where I am today.
It forced me to take an honest look at myself and accept what I did to manifest this.
I decided that this wasn’t going to kill me and in fact, use this to my advantage.
I made a list of all the self help tips, positive daily habits and life hacks that I could think of and had told others to do over the past 20 years and actually do them everyday.
Over the following few weeks I narrowed in on a routine that worked best for me.
With consistency that was becoming easier and easier, I executed everyday because I could see and feel the results.
This happened in October of 2015 and by March of 2016 I had seen unbelievable changes.
I restarted my training business with a new gym, was in the best shape I had been in years, met the woman beyond my dreams, bought a multi million dollar apartment building, started traveling to Europe every month and opened a restaurant.
